Elective – Toxicology For Working Dogs PART 1

$300.00 $400.00

Working Dog Toxicology-Part 1

In this elective you will learn the common terms and definitions, routes of exposure, different forms of chemicals, and different pathways that working dogs can be exposed to toxic agents; forms of chemicals and general risks that can pose harm to working dogs; and how chemicals can be absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and excreted. Determining the toxicological hazard and potential route(s) of exposure will largely determine what signs and symptoms may develop. Treatment for many of these hazards is symptomatic and supportive, focused on alleviating signs and symptoms. And how floodwaters present a unique health and safety risk to working dogs.
