Working Dog Practitioner Course

This first step towards certification will expose you to the many different types of working and performance dogs you may encounter in your practice. You will gain insight to the specific physical and behavioral requirements of each type of dog and learn the occupational hazards, illnesses, and injuries common to each type. This section consists of 13 – 1 hour online modules and is designed to be completed at your individual pace.

Objectives

  • Discover various working and performance dog jobs.
  • Utilize principles of positive-based training to teach fitness and conditioning exercises.
  • Learn about common occupational hazards.
  • Incorporate principles of nutrition, dentistry, preventive and sports medicine.
